Mongolian medics get Canada’s helping hand

  • November 21-30 2023

  • 10-day intensive prehospital care course

  • Course topics range from triage and trauma to birthing and advanced CPR

  • 60 participants from the Ministry of Health EMS and NEMA EMS

  • Eight paramedic trainers from Australia, PNG, Canada and the US (all volunteers)

  • Supported by the World Health Organisation

  • Delivered by Griffith University, Australia

  • Supported by the Ministry of Health, The Mongolian Society for Emergency Medicine, NEMA and the Mongolian Armed Forces

  • Clinical governance by the Second Hospital, Mongolia

  • The course was developed by Clinical Director Duncan McConnell and has been internationally certified to give the graduates international standing.

  • Prehospital care training is currently very limited in Mongolia
