Danny Nayman

With two decades of experience as a Paramedic, Danny worked on an ambulance as a Paramedic and Field Training Officer in a large US metropolitan EMS system, before participating in the creation of the first Community Paramedic program in the US and working as an Advanced Practice Paramedic in that program for five years. Since then, Danny has worked as a Critical Care Paramedic and has extensive leadership experience as a Clinical Educator, Performance Improvement Officer, and Education Program Manager for a large Critical Care Transport program in North Carolina. Currently, Danny is the product manager for ZOLL emsCharts, a clinical documentation software designed for pre-hospital and transport medicine, a Paramedic with Duke Life Flight, and serves as the vice-president of the Board of Directors of the International College of Advanced Practice Paramedics (I-CAPP).

Jacquie Hennessy

Jacquie Hennessy is the Executive Director of Clinical Systems and Enterprise Operations for St. John Ambulance Papua New Guinea. Credentialed as a Specialist Paramedic (Flight and Tactical), she has worked within emergency medical services in Papua New Guinea and Australia for the last decade. The team she currently leads is responsible for clinical governance, innovation and education for the National Ambulance Service. Jacquie also commands and coordinates the St John Air Medical Retrieval Service and the Ambulance Special Operations and Rescue Team. She has further tertiary education in Emergency Management, Health Service Leadership and Tactical Medicine.

Phillip Mills

As a seasoned executive with a 25-year track record in the transport and logistics industry, Phillip seamlessly blends extensive commercial expertise with a genuine passion for healthcare and education. Over the past decade, Phillip managed to combine his executive role with a passion for volunteering in pre-hospital healthcare, a commitment that has also evolved into his current role as a registered paramedic in the commercial sector.

Phillip's unique perspective stems from navigating senior executive roles within logistics while concurrently immersing himself in the dynamic world of pre-hospital healthcare and education. This dual commitment has not only broadened his skill set but also fuelled a deep-seated passion for community projects.

With a foundation built on two and a half decades of logistical leadership, Phillip brings a wealth of experience to both the commercial and healthcare spheres. His journey as a registered paramedic reflects his unwavering dedication to continuous learning and a desire for diverse experiences. As he delves into new challenges, his enthusiasm for community projects remains a driving force, underscoring his commitment to making a positive impact on communities in Australia and abroad.

Steffan Paton

Steffan has been an Advanced Care Paramedic for just over two and a half years. During this time he has been fortunate to experience work in both the metropolitan and remote areas, working both as part of a crew and as a single officer. Steffan is pursuing a GradDip of Critical Care Paramedics and is interested in paramedic education while attempting to develop his understanding of EMS around the world. Steffan is originally from New Zealand and has recently observed EMS in British Columbia, Canada.

Garry Harris

Garry is a motivated and highly experienced registered paramedic/nurse with over 30 years of extensive frontline experience and a proven track record in emergency medical services, including remote and at-sea medical expertise in civilian and military settings. Garry is recognised for delivering exceptional patient care, demonstrating strong leadership skills and maintaining composure in high-pressure situations, possessing a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring with a successful background in sessional lecturer roles and staff development across various disciplines.

Steve Strom

Steve is a paramedic with 22 years’ of on-road frontline experience working for state ambulance services in New Zealand and Australia. Steve has undertaken many roles over his career including Paramedic, Station Manager, Clinical Deployment Supervisor in the communications centre and Frontline Manager. In his current role, Steve works as an Operations Supervisor on the Gold Coast in Queensland, providing day-to-day frontline leadership and guidance to staff on a 24/7 roster. Steve has a proven record of high-level patient care. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with graduates and training paramedics of the future.

Leon Baranowski

With almost two decades of experience in healthcare, Leon is a senior leader committed to enhancing patient experiences, care and outcomes through clear communication and personable interactions. His extensive expertise encompasses clinical leadership, system design, data analysis and research study implementation. He is regarded as a motivated, resourceful and supportive team player who approaches every challenge with a positive, proactive attitude.

Duncan McConnell

Duncan McConnell is a multifaceted professional with over 27 years of experience spanning pre-hospital care, management, education, and international EMS development. His diverse background and innovative approach have made him a leader in advancing paramedicine practices globally. Duncan's career spans metropolitan, rural, military, and private service delivery, showcasing his adaptability and comprehensive understanding of diverse healthcare environments. His approach to developing EMS systems in various countries emphasizes contextual relevance and sustainability, ensuring effective pre-hospital care delivery tailored to each nation's unique health system needs.

As an educator, consultant, and practitioner, Duncan continues to drive innovation in paramedicine, focusing on practical, client-centered solutions that advance the field globally. His multifaceted expertise in clinical practice, education, and system development makes him a valuable asset in shaping the future of emergency medical services worldwide.
